There aren't many Sekonda reviews on WatchCrunch yet, mainly because I seem to be the only person to own any of the newer models, so here's my second Sekonda review.

This is the Sekonda 1393 which, although not a "homage", certainly looks like several more expensive watches.
Measurements are 42mm across (but 45mm including the crown), 10mm thick, a lug-to-lug of 52mm (with curved ends), and lug width of 22mm. There's a slight taper to 20mm for the bracelet, but it goes back up again with the clasp measuring 23mm across.
It's yet another chrome-plated case with a mineral crystal, but that's what you expect from Sekonda. If you want something slightly better quality but less fashionable, the next option up is Accurist.

To me, this model is reminiscent of an Omega or a Tag Heuer of some kind, but I'm not certain of the model. Maybe thinking of it as a "fantasy" combination of several luxury watch elements is a better way to go. It is only a fashion watch (or "mall watch") underneath it all.

With folded links and a pressed clasp, this certainly couldn't be mistaken for a real luxury timepiece. It's not bad quality overall, but it all feels a bit too thin and light, and it really could do better.
Resizing the bracelet is quite a task, and when it came to me as a "used" watch, the bracelet still had all the blue tape on it because whoever had it before couldn't figure out how to adjust it. I got the impression that it was one of those "unwanted gifts" from the seller, because it was so very obviously unworn.

I got this Sekonda from eBay for only £5 after putting in the same amount as a very cheeky and somewhat facetious offer. I knew full well that this Sekonda is being sold for £80 in most High Street jewellers, and even for £100 on some websites. I was actually very surprised when my offer was accepted.

I also know this Sekonda isn't worth £100 because you can get much better watches for that price with stainless steel cases rather than plated alloy. I have no idea why Sekonda wants so much for these, but the dials do look good. and the cases have the lugs which dip down and conform to my wrist, which is something I like.

There's a signed clasp, but the bracelet is a bit horrible. It's not a hair-puller, but it's a big rough on the edges due to being made of folded links. It won't cut you or anything, but some of the corners feel sharper than they should.
The only other thing to mention is the lack of lume on the dial, and the extremely poor lume on the hands. It's best to think of this watch as having no lume at all really. Sekonda are notorious for this, and it's somewhat of an in-joke among people who already know the score.

Although this isn't Sekonda's more popular "Endurance" model, it shares the slight waffle/brick pattern on the dial, and the quartz chronograph uses the same Miyota movement. As usual, the Tachymeter scale is just decoration because the seconds hand for the chronograph is on the 6 o'clock subdial.
Water resistance is 50m, which I have tested, and the Sekonda 1393 tells the time as it should. The battery is just a little 377 cell, so it'll probably need to be changed every couple of years. As a normal everyday watch, it'll be just fine.
