Not a new watch, but the one I wore on my 20th wedding anniversary in 2019. Like most people with a huge collection of watches, I just haven't written a review of it until now.

I tried to create some "arty" pictures of this Casio while I was in Brighton, but it didn't work too well. Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

The sunlight was against me, but even in those conditions, the time was still very legible.

Anyway, here's the usual close-ups on my side table to show you what you get with a Casio W-87H. It isn't that much, to be honest.
I'm not sure what colour the case is supposed to be because sometimes it looks grey and sometimes it looks olive green depending on the light source. The truth of the matter may be somewhere in between.

There are only three buttons on this watch, 2 on the side and one great big one for the backlight which is presumably labelled for morons.

I really dislike the huge "LIGHT" text. The button would have been much better left plain, but then Casio wouldn't be able to advertise every feature, would they?

It's one of the better EL backlights too, not a weedy LED, so it's pretty much the same as the light on the A-168 or W-86 (although softer and not as bright as the latter).

The back of the case is the usual boring cover plate with 4 screws. I've never changed the battery, so I have no idea what's inside or which battery this takes. I doubt that I'll ever change the battery either as I assume it lasts 10 years like all the others. Probably a CR2016, maybe a CR2025. You can look it up if you want to.

The 19mm strap is quite decent but with a black plastic "signed" buckle. Replacements cost as much as a new Casio but come with an unsigned metal buckle now because this watch is still in production with slight colour variations.
At 36mm (46mm lug-to lug, and 11mm thick), this isn't a very big watch. The 19mm lug width is annoying for new straps, but an 18, 19, or even 20mm nato will pass through with no problems.

Not many functions on this Casio apart from the basic timekeeping, 12/24 hour mode, alarm, chime, and stopwatch. The display is a much like the F-94W with the position of the indicators sub-dial on the other side.
There are two slightly upgraded models in the same case shape with auto-backlight, countdown timers, and 2 more buttons on the right side. With hindsight, I probably should have bought the W-93H or W-94H instead, but I still don't have either.
This Casio W-87H a just a basic EDC kind of thing which is slightly bigger and more "manly" than an F-91W, but with a better backlight and nicer strap. It's light, comfortable, and does its job.
