This should be the shortest review ever. It won't be, but it should be.
The Casio A171 is simply a Casio F-91W in a gold PVD case with a gold-tone stainless steel bracelet.

It looks like one of the original Casiotrons from the 1970s, but it's just an F-91W with all the "improvements" that the modern 593 module offers (including the horrible backlight).
Same features as an F-91W: alarm, hourly chime, 12/24 hour switching, and a stopwatch with lap time. Basically, this is just a blatant Casio cashgrab, and even more so because it'll cost you a premium price to have one.
On the plus side, at least you can change the bracelet very easily to something more comfortable.

You probably won't change the bracelet to a strap like mine though, or maybe you will. I think the leopard-pattern suede is very '70s and compliments the watch perfectly, but I realise that not everyone has the same taste as Kat Slater from EastEnders.

As you can see, the A171 is the same size as an F-91W. Same width, depth, and lug-to-lug, just a different almost PRX-style shape. If you favour smaller watches, or just normal-sized Japanese watches, it'll fit you.
The A171 is also available in a silver or a gunmetal version, and has the additional option of an oyster-ish or Milanese/mesh bracelet in each case. Neither bracelet will nip your hairs and make you cry, but they are still quite poor.
That's all there is to it.
